Since about one this after noon,it has been snowing. Not little bitty snow like we have been used to of late but nice big fiftypence size snowflakes. It stopped around sevenish but the sky is still full of it so it looks like more is promised. Meanwhile what is left on the ground is now freezing and as I watch the id..erm the people coming home from the pubs and clubs sliding in it and making it even more impassable I am glad that I dont have anywhere to actually go or even the inclination to do so because it is too bloomin cold!
Though it would have been nice to go walkabouts in some of my favourite places that will probably be knee deep in some parts. Still I have the little one overnight so no early morning walkabouts for me today.
When I had my two dogs they used to love the snow. Bambi ( little Jack Russel cross) used to try to catch the flakes as they were falling and Tessa ( Border Collie) used to chase the snowballs you threw then go searching for them in the snow when they broke up on contact.
Anyway, before it snowed I had finally taken my daughter into town to get her kitted out. She had agreed when she got this windfall to let me take her shopping for clothes for herself.
Now for a long time she has dressed in what I class as a bit dowdy, concentrating on the children and not herself she has lived in jeans and baggy trousers with any kind of top thrown on. Not being one to spend a lot of money on herself today was quite fun,for me anyway. After taking her to get some decent make up from Boots
I started at Debenhams where I chose her a black suit ( skirt and jacket) the jacket was fitted and her being very slim looked really good on,to go with this I chose a nice lacy type blouse. Outfit one came to more money than she had ever spent on herself and the price of the jacket alone made her go pale.I ended up telling her to walk away while I paid for it so she wouldn`t have heart attack. Outfit two I found a lovely cream top that she instantly fell in love with, especially as I kept my fingers over the price tag so she couldn`t see how much it cost.Another find of a lovely black and white silk top, some black trousers and another skirt. These were from Oasis. Tomorrow providing the weather holds we are shopping for shoes etc to accesorise the outfits. I have to admit that I had more fun doing this today than I ever have shopping for me.
And I chose shops that I knew would be emptier today as most people shop in them at weekends. I am learning
