For now anyway, phone is working again. Though it still took yet another phone call at 1-30.
It has been a glorious day so far weatherwise anyway.I took a trip to the other river this morning,we are lucky enough to have two rivers in this area the River Worth which is what we call the little river and the one featured in the pics, and the River Aire. I dont have any pictures of the Aire at the moment but will get some soon.
There are many reasons why I dont visit the Aire as often one of them being that the journey to the river is a little more dangerous than the one to the worth.Having to pass through a particurlarly seedy part of town whichever way I choose to go.
We also have the Leeds to liverpool canal passing by the outskirts of town. I remember once when I was twelve walking all the way home from somewhere before Skipton ( a place called Kildwick) where my grandparents lived. It was after my Granda had died and we had gone to collect Sheena, his German Sheperd. Granma could not cope with her so she was coming to live with us. It was a magnificent walk,a long way but well worth it and Sheena loved it.She was my dog from that day.
Anyway back to today,I didn`t go too early and it was fairly quiet when I did set off,I wanted to watch the sunrise over the river. To get to where I wanted to be I had to walk along the river about two miles, which was fun as part of the banking had been walled up from the last floods and I had to make several detours. I got there eventually but the sun had already started coming up so though the sunrise was as beautiful as ever I missed the beginning. I sat on the bank for a while just daydreaming and then decided to set off back. All the buds are coming out on the trees, and the birds are busy nesting. The few ducks I saw were diving which I think is so funny when I watch them. I managed to catch a glimpse of the Falcon that lives round there but a glimpse was all I got before it was gone.I cheated and caught the bus back so had ten minutes at home and then set off again down to the Worth for another walk.
Back about ten minutes when Daughter landed,I hadn`t realised it was that late!!
