I starred in a sitcom
Have you ever been in a situation that made you feel as though you were stuck in some kind of weird sitcom?
All week while on this new shift it has ended up with just myself and *** the Zone leader taking the last few calls at seven o clock, then we would log out and she would go upstairs and tell them we were leaving as it was the last two out of there that lock up. Tonight there were four of us, we actually managed to log off dead on seven, and one of the lads ( the only one there from our team) said bye and off he went as we were getting ready as he had a bus to catch.
A few minutes later he comes back in and he says "*** the alarms going off in there and it is all dark"
"What have you done?" she says laughing and goes to investigate only to come rushing back in a panic to exclaim that we have been locked in, the four of us, all the doors locked and the gate that covers the door in place and locked, from the outside.
I burst out laughing, the young man had set off the motion detectors "Oh Oh" says I " we are going to be arrested "
* starts phoning all the people she knew that were key holders, one had gone off with the army for the weekend, one was in blackpool and the other was thirty miles or so away having a family meal, during this mad phoning * and the other two are getting more and more stressed, " What you worrying about, we have a snack machine and a coffee machine and computers we will be fine " says I
Somehow they couldn't see the funny side of it, the third guy happened to know who was responsible for locking up and he said he would call them and tell them to get back asap and let us out. Which they did with much apologising and telling us that the other girl that had been with them had told them we had gone, hmmm, a massive room with lights on and she couldn't see we were still there?
So we finally got out and off home, me I found it funny, never a dull moment, and it brightened what had been a very long day up
So come on what were your sitcom adventures?
???
Sometimes when I am out with Miss Molly in the dark, wandering through the field, I feel like it is a reflection of my life, wandering in the dark, though there is a purpose to the walks with Miss Molly I often wonder if there is a purpose to my life?
After all what have I done with it so far? What have I actually acheived? And if I have acheived so little, what was the purpose of my being in the first place?
Dont thoughts lead us in to the strangest places?
Saunterings
It is still wet and overcast here, though not as cold as it has been, the promised snow has not yet arrived.
I watched the Crows this morning while out with Miss Molly, they are fascinating creatures, quite apart from being keepers of the soul, they are very much a community bird, like the magpie, it is easy to see why the Red Indian tribes of North America worshipped them.
They have a very tribal construction to their community, with scouts and outriders(flyers?) For instance the ones I watched this morning, to begin with there was one, this one sat on the roof of one of the houses by the field, he looked around and looked around some more then he made his noise, a couple of minutes later and two more flew in, not on to the roof but down to the field (away from us) then three more with a fledgling in tow, all the while the one on the roof kept his vigil. As Molly moved back across the field to me, he cawed again, this time a different pitch and the ones at the edges of the field moved across to the other side of the road onto the grass in the factory enclosure, fascinating.
While what I presumed were the parents or carers of the fledgling, and the fledgling, scouted about on the floor, three other crows kept watch around them, two on the floor and the other on the fence, you can tell they are watching as they are not foraging and they are constantly turning their heads. Fascinating stuff. Did you know that fledglings make a different sound to Adult crows? Crows making a cawing sound which seems to be one sound at one pitch, Fledglings make more of a singing sound which is equivalent to having two syllables, or two pitches.
Nature watch over with and time to move on, I have decided that Miss Molly will never make a hunter, she chases the late night/early morning rabbits only to be distracted by some scent or other and by the time she remembers she is chasing something they have of course disappeared into the allotments and gone, she stands there looking all bemused as if to say where did they go? Tis a good job I am not yet reduced to roughing it cos if I had to rely on Missy for food I would starve!
Right off to do some stuff before getting ready for the office (my was that not posh, the office indeed
)
Catch you later have a good one
Whoops I did it again!!
My fingers are to blame this time, the tape was no good as I was asked by email
I am now working all day Saturday, on the bright side I still have a full two days off, and I am getting time and a half for it, and I needs the money
Actually I need a new job, but there just does not seem to be anything out there, thought it was easier to find a job when you have one?
Anyaways, thats then and right now I can relax for a little while before I have to get ready for the outside world, it is raining, which is not the snow we were told we would be getting ( though it did snow for five minutes on Monday) seems they sent it abroad instead
Right away to the studies, have a great day
Me and my big mouth!
I have come to the conclusion that I should have my mouth taped up, no seriously I just do not seem to be able to learn to shutup and let others do the volunteering
It is like I cannot help myself, and then I sit there and think 'what the hell did you do that for?!!
Yesterday, as was expected it was a pretty slow day, very few phone calls, and I was ploughing through my overdue work, full steam ahead, comes just before twelve and boss man says we need three people on this side of the business and one on the other to volunteer to stay til five and the rest can go home, so I sat there for a minute, looked at my workload, thought how much I could get done if I stayed and thats it, I opens my mouth and says I will stay. Two followed straight after me, and it was arranged we would go for our lunch then and when we came back the others would go home.
It was while coming home for lunch that it hit me, the three of us that had volunteered to stay were the ones that had worked Good Friday and Easter Monday! The ones that went home had already had a long weekend, so next time someone says we need x amount of people or I would like someone to.. I am getting the tape out of the draw and placing it across my mouth!!!
But on the up side I got loads of work done and my overdues are down to four
I had a laugh with the few clients that did ring in and the few of us in the building took the rip out of the boss all afternoon, all in good taste of course and he gave back as much as we gave
Back to normal today, and the start of the new hours, so I dont got to be there until 11, so I can get some study done while still fresh and not tired from working all day.
After I go and get the Son and his wife out of bed that is, catch you all later have a good one
Good Morning,hello, how are you?
Monday Morning, and yes I know it is Easter Monday but as I am working a normal shift it is just another monday for me.
I also worked on Good Friday, though there wasn't much that was good about it.
Anyway what have I been up to you ask (ok you didn't but I shall tell you anyway
)
I have had an assignment to do, which though it wasn't many words took a lot of researching, I have been dining with Son and his family, and I have been wrapped up in my own little cocoon of self inflicted reclusion. Its coming up to April and the nearer it gets the more reclusive I become.
I have nipped on and off and left comments here and there, darting about like a busy bee.
We start our new shifts at work this week, oh yes you dont know about them do you?
Well apparently some bright spark decided it would help the firm to close two hours earlier on an evening, there are not a lot of phone calls after seven and it seems a waste of money to have the building lit up and heated for nothing. However these plans are not always easy to place into motion, so last week, the bosses were taking members of staff off in threes and fours and talking to them, I sat and watched and thought hmmm, whats happening now?
I didnt get taken off with the others, I got a personal email that put to me the change of shifts and what did I think about them, I sent one back verifying what they meant and when that was done I said well I am game to try it.
It appears they wanted to be able to tell the others that I had agreed to the changes before they put them to them? Fame at last
So the change is this, one week I work 11am-7pm Mon-Fri, have Sat Sun Mon off then work 9-5 Tues- Sat the following week. This week is supposed to be my 11 start but as today is a Bank Holiday we are closing at 5 so it is a normal 9-5 today and 11 from tomorrow.
Of course not everyone is happy with the changes though personally I dont see what difference it makes as I am the only one that didn't work every other Saturday anyway?
Nothing Stranger than folk!
Right off to get ready for the land of the living, well sort of living, catch you later.
Lunchtime Hi
Time ran away with me this morning, something to do with trying to get this assignment done for wednesday! But fear not, I am still here, well here as in on my lunch at the moment, and then here as is in back later and I appear to be rambling slightly already!
Work dont seem to like the fact the the 'Team' of people I have been sat with all seven of us, laugh a lot, today they have seperated us all, they say it is so they can integrate us the experienced ones in with the ones just learning the things we have been doing for two years. Hmmmmm, that excuse doesnt wash as we have been training them anyway sat where we were
But, in true LJ form, has this stopped us? Not a chance
We just have a few more joining in now thts all
What is life without a laugh, and a smile makes the day go quicker.
Hope you all have a good one, will catch you later

Spring is springing
Walkin home from work yesterday I could smell spring in the air, despite the cold snap the afternoon was lovely and had that springlike feel to it. Wishful thinking thinks I, until this morning, walking to get my son up and then taking The Miss Molly out, yes spring is definately springing.
The buds are on the trees and it is light before six in the morning, the birds were singing and though slightly chilly it was a beautiful time to be out and about. Miss Molly loved it, she could run around the field and actually see where she was going
I love the early morning air, no cars, very few if any people, just the sounds of nature preparing to face the day, it has to be the most peaceful time of the day.
And now back to the studying, catch you later
Its Friiiiidddaaaayyy!!! Yaayayaya
Its Friday and the weekend beckons, well after work it does
A whole two days of not being at the beck and call of others, it can only be good.
Feeling a bit miffed with work at the moment (so what is new there then) We have this 'rota' system whereby we are all supposed to take it in turns to go on what is classed as 'inbound' this is the basic call centre calls. because we are so short staffed, we get the rota every morning, or if the Zone leader is not going to be there, the evening before we finish work, Missy here, as in I, was informed last night that I will be spending all morning again this morning on inbound, that makes four days out of the five, I am still trying to work out how that is a fair division of labour? The answer I got when I challenged it yesterday was, yes but you still manage to get your own work done as well, you're superwoman!
Hmmm, flattery gets you nowhere, I am still doing much more than my fair share, yes but we drop less calls when you are on, hmmmm, again this flattery thing. The fact is that I am still behind in my work, yes but you have nearly caught up despite being on inbound. OK, Ok, but next week I want the sharing out to be fairer than this.
Lordy I need a new job!!!!
OK, got to go get ready for some of the daily strife, have a good day ![]()
Good morning swiftly
Just a quick Hi this morning, the wind is howling and the rain is pouring and I feel like curling back under my Duvet and saying sod off to the world *sigh*
Ah well, tis Thursday, almost the weekend, and two whole days off, by the way I applied for another job last night, thats besides the other one I applied for, which by the way I have heard nothing from, typical.
Right off I go to see if I can do a Mary Poppins, darn good job I dont use a brolly
Rambling onwards,looking back
Families are strange things, they say you cannot choose your family only your friends, and they are right, I mean some of us wouldn't choose the family we have got now would we? Not just parents either, though some of us often wished we could when we were younger.
Take my family for instance (please take them I am giving them away!!
) I have five brothers and two sisters.
My oldest brother A, he went from being a guy who could never hold down a job or a woman, to a guy that has his own business, a villa in spain, a cottage in the lake district, his own house in its own grounds, married with two children and now a grandad. We never see him mind, the last time we saw A was at the Male Parents funeral which was ten years ago. He was the oldest but the Male Parent found him an embarrassment and always called him a Bum, until he went to Scotland and started to make his fortune that was.
Next was P, P was the blue eyed boy, always, he could never do anything wrong, the favourite, he followed in the Male Parents footsteps and joined the Army in the same regiment, where he eventually met his wife and then left the army and became a fireman (dont ask!) He never came home except for funerals, and though he always remained the favourite he was a distant one, last saw him at the Male Parents funeral.
Then there was me, I was a disappointment because I didnt do what it was thought I should do, defying convention and being independant, the black sheep, the one that answered back, the one that refused to be cowed by the beatings and the rest and went on to be Me.
Next was T, those that follow my Blog (Are you still here?) know about T, the one that lost his wife at a young age and his son only ten months old when it happened, the one that then went on to throw his life away through Drink, tried to kill himself, almost succeeded and is still throwing his life away on drink, though he is now crippled and oh so sad.
Next is K, she was/is a materialist, went after a married man and got him, has three children, and up to the male parents funeral we hadn't spoken apart from once in over seven years, last seen at the Male Parents funeral.
Next is D,my favourite brother, D, is/was the wild card in the family, from an early age he did as he pleased and though he ended up in prison a few times he straightened himself out and has his own business, very independent, we see each other when and if, he is busy I am busy, but I know if I need him he is on the end of the phone.
Then we come to PG, again those that are followers of my ramblings know that PG is the 'lost' brother, last seen at my Mothers birthday party about 12 years ago PG has not been seen since and noone knows where he is, though brother D has been out looking for him, we know he is around somewhere, at least we hope he is. He is the strange one, but there is a story there that has been told somewhere on this blog.
Next is B, B is lovely, the youngest of us all, the favourite of us all, she has her own life and family, but she is around and I know where she is should I want to speak to her, her two daughters are in regular contact with me, well her youngest one is, she leaves me messages to ask how I am and sends me things on the net. B will always be the favourite I guess, being the youngest, but also because she is the only one in the family apart from D that doesnt judge me and what I do.
See mine isn't a family as such, it is a bunch of people that happened to live together for part of our lives and then went our own ways, most of them never bother writing, calling, visiting, and your letters are met with silence. The only thing we have in common is our parentage (And even that is debatable) and it often makes me sad that my family is so widespread and uncommunicative, but that is life.
Off to face the day, have a good one xx
Another day another dime
Good Morning Blogland, though it is far from good for many of us this morning as the wind is howling and the rain is lashing, still, it could be worse, it could be blizzards like America are having!!
Anyway enough of that, I went to my sons for my 'Birthday' tea last night,he was working last week when it was my birthday, we had Bacon and mushroom tagliatelle, he makes a mean tagliatelle my son does, followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, yummy. Of course the best thing was the quality time spent with him and the family, I know I see them most days but it is normally one or the other and rarely all of them together.
Right enough of the waffling, time to get ready for work, have a good day, despite the weather
What a difference a day makes
In just 24 hours you can get richer/poorer/married/divorced/hired/fired/make friends/lose friends. In fact there are any number of things that can happen in what is relatively a short time.
The one thing that I have learnt however over the years is that even if none of the above happen the one thing that will happen is that you will learn something new, even if you dont realise you have.
It may be something small and insignificant at the time, but you just never know when knowledge is going to come in handy!
And that is the philosophy over for today ![]()
It is pouring it down here, again, and the wind is howling, yesterday I got soaked, again, so nothing new there then.
And how has your weekend been so far???
Happy Birthday Nick!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK
I hope you have the best day EVER!!!
Lots of love and Huge hugs
Oh dear again!!!
Tis Friday, I am still miles behind everything, but at least I have two days off to catch up at least that is the theory so I should be caught up with you all and back on an even footing before the weekend is out.
Meanwhile have a great day ![]()
Internetativity duly restored
Whooo hooo I'm baaaaaccckkk.
And duly compensated for my lack of internetativity, though they are still not letting on what happened but it has gone from a slight problem with 'the area' to an 'administrative error'? Which was apparently discovered today and was duly put right, and not before time too!! Now all I need is a new mouse and all will be fine in the wonderful world of web again ![]()
Catch you soon, when I have managed to get through all these blogs![]()
Good morning and a very big Thank you
Another lovely start to the day, blue skies and sunshine, isn't it funny what a difference it makes to the day when you walk to work in nice weather?
Thank you to all my blog friends, even those that are not on my list that sent me Birthday greetings yesterday, you have helped to make it a very special day.
Though it was tinged with a resigned sadness, which we wont go in to as it is far too nice a day. As it happens coming on here and reading all the messages and the blogs that people have done ( I will get round to commenting on them and answering comments I promise it is just quite hard at the moment using the sons computer to actually get the time to do very much) made my day even better, and the sun shone all day, and my son and his family tried to make it a good day too.
I am a very lucky person to have so many lovely people in my life.
Here is to a good day for everyone whatever you are doing
Good Morning blue sky
Good morning my lovely friends, and it is a beautiful morning with blue skies and sunshine after the freaky weather of yesterday where it couldn't decide if it was snowing or hailing.
I will be at my Son's tonight to try and answer some of the comments I have received, though hopefully my net will be fixed today
Have a great day, whatever you are doing xx
Just a few lines to say
Just a very quick hi this morning, just to say good morning and have a great day.
Tis Snowing here, on an off, not settling yet cos of the rain yesterday the ground was too wet but if it continues I dare say that it will start to take a hold eventually.
Right got to go, have a great Monday!
Happy Mothering Sunday
To all Mothers out there xx
It has been terrible weather here over the past week, force ten gales and torrential rain, it was that bad that the road my son lives on was blocked off and all the car owners made to move their cars as two of the trees on the little island of grass were breaking up, they had to bring in guys to cut them down.
Taking Molly out has been fun, especially on Friday as there were whelly bins flying across the road, even Molly wasn't happy with it.
Anyway today it appears to have calmed down a bit, the wind is still quite strong but the sun is shining (for now)
I am at my son's as my net is still down, they are trying to find the problem and hopefully it will be back up in the next couple of days.
OK, gotta go as we are watching Toy Soldiers, love that film ![]()
Have a great day
