Thursday one step closer

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-28 - 10:14:36

Thursday and the weekend is around the corner, I am looking forward to the weekend, course it is just the weekend but I intend it to be a nice relaxed one, so look out anyone who tries to spoil my plans :>

It is raining, though today is supposed to get really warm, does that mean we will have warm rain? the children are fighting, as usual, and I have to go to work soon *sigh*

However all is not lost as it is payday, and that always lifts the spirits, for a leetle while anyway. But, my spirits are lifted and I plan them to remain that way, I have decided that it doesn't matter what they throw at me at work anymore, especially after reading the ACAS site and speaking to a union rep ;)

I may even treat myself this weekend, though I have yet to decide what to :))

A glass of wine is going to be in order tomorrow night no matter what else ;)

Right off to get ready for work catch you all later and have a great day

Can you believe it is almost September? 8|

where has the year gone?

It is Wednesday the middle of the week, though it does feel more like tuesday due to the bank holiday, and for some reason I woke this morning thinking it was Thursday? 8|

Just today to get through and it is payday, hooray, not that the pay is anything to write home about, but that will all change soon, I hope. maybe I will win the lottery :))

So the week is heading towards the weekend, another free one, which can only be good, depending on what I decide to do of course, I had thought of going to Leeds this weekend, have a little wander around, a day out, do something different, maybe?

Right I had better get on with getting ready for work, I like this shift, though I have to admit that at the moment going at all is a trial.

Catch you all later have a great day, whatever you are dooing

Just five minutes

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-26 - 09:45:34

It has been a strange week, the fun with work continues and I have been to see a friend who is HR for a large company to see if the latest developments are following protocol, very interesting information and advice she has given me which I will be following to the letter.

Anyway work is a boring subject.

So how did everyone enjoy their bank holiday weekend?

I worked saturday but had sunday and monday off where I proceeded to do nothing at all, except play wow and chill, I am getting really lazy since I dont have molly  I really must make the effort and get out there more, right now my life reveolves around home and work, and that is never good

I had a five minute drive out with my son to find a shop that was open, apart from that I havent moved out of the house at all.

So what have you lot been up to?

George Orwell..Not so far off the mark, or was he?

*Shhhhh, they might be listening* B)

It has transpired that the powers that be (my bosses) are spying on us underlings through the wonderful world wide web, they are apparently placing themselves amongst us as friends on the list at facebook, not surprising really as about three quarters of the work force are on there, which is why I have made this friends only.

I haven't?

Oh dear :))

Am I shocked and surprised by the latest underhand tactics of senior management in their efforts to keep tabs on the hired hands, well no, not really, (and I dont mean just my senior management) one of the penalties of using the internet is that it is open to public scrutiny, so it doesn't bother me at all especially as I studied the law on what they could and could not use against you/us/me. I do not blog from work as we are not allowed access to the internet, therefore all my blogs are written in my personal and private time.*

I have made no bones about how senior management treat their staff, but I have also made sure that no names have been mentioned and no data protection laws broken, so the reaction from me is, go ahead, do what you feel you must and my oh my you must have really sad lives.

They have appaerently read my consumer blog, well, I hope that they learnt something

I have of course been told this by someone other than management.

I will not be leaving or closing off my blog by the way, they are as welcome to read as anyone else, maybe they will learn something about people in the real world.

Anyway, all that aside, today has been a not too bad day, the sun has attempted to shine and it has been quite warm.

How has your day been?

Rambleicous

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-20 - 07:38:31

Dawn broke gently along the horizon, gently diffusing the darkness as she pushed it away into the night of somewhere else, the Sun peeked shyly over the hills until finally she tiptoed in on golden slippers, streaking the sky with ribbons of pink, kissing the clouds and making them blush as they raced across the sky.

I have missed watching the sunrise since Molly went, missed sunsets and long walks, but I did all these things before she came and it is time to do them again, though I have to admit that the weather hasn't been the best to go sitting on riverbanks in. Maybe I should get a waterproof coat and an umberella?

Half way through another week, time is flying away again as we are now over half way through the month of August and the countdown to Christmas and the New Year has begun. *Did I just say that?* *shakes head* I am losing it

One of the things that has always been a mainstay in my life is the appreciation of the beauty that surrounds me and that costs me nothing at all, I lost it for a little while, not the appreciation just the ability to see it, now I have it back and n matter how bad things get I know that these things are continual in my life and will always be so (until someone learns how to charge for watching sunsets and sunrises)

We all have dreams, mine will never be realised but it doesnt mean that I dont still have them and it doesnt mean that anything I do will be different, I may have to modify them, somewhat, but I will never give them up, dreams are what we strive for, without them we have nowhere to look and nothing to aim at.

I need a wander in the garden of replenishment,to let my mind rest and allow me some time to find the conviction I had when I started aiming for my dream, perhaps I will visit tonight after the stress of another day at work, where the management have now decided that we are to be treated as school children that have to ask if we can go to the bathroom 8|

Yet another of the longest members of staff announced that they were leaving yesterday, not many of us left now, never mind, my turn soon ;)

Right away to prepare for the day, have a good one whatever you are doing

All smiles

Shall we have a laugh at my works expense?

I went in today (not better but who can afford the time off?) expecting reprecussions from my day off, considering the way that things have been lately. To find that half the work force was off with the same thing, they couldn't do anything as they would have had to do this with everyone :))

Sometimes little things can please one so much :)

So how was your day?

Rambles

Life is strange, I know that many people dont believe in fate and Karma and all that stuff, but, something makes you be in the right place at the right (or wrong depending on the outcome) time, something makes events happen that place you in various places, to meet various people at certain points in your life.

Whatever name you give it, there are mysterious forces that work around you all the time, take a wrong turn it tends to let you know, not that you can always do anything about it, at least not straight away.

Of course we are all Human and Humans make mistakes, not that we can always see them at the time, we misinterpret the 'signs' we are too scared to take that step, or we are just plain stubborn or think we know it all. Well no one knows it all, no matter who they are.

Maybe we do make our own destinies, or just maybe something out there tries its very best to guide us on to the road we should be on, perhaps several times throughout our lives, whatever it is, we can only hope that we get to where we should be in the end.

Hello Monday

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-18 - 16:45:15

It is monday, I should be at work, i am sick :(, just a bug, nothing major, couple of hours hanging over the loo and just feeling a little dizzy and wobbly, work however do not seem to feel that this is a good enough reason to take the day off. The fact that I would have been running to the bathroom every five minutes has nothing to do with it! They are short staffed, well tough they should be better with their staff and then they wouldn't all be leaving, along with me as soon as I can get another job, why are they so hard to find?

As you may have guessed things are no better, having had my application for the in house job veto'd by the woman that used to be my manager long ago and is now the head of the old part of the company. Basically they want to keep me in the place where I answer the most calls and do the most work, well, if they wont let me advance inside the company I will advance outside it:) The good rota lasted one week, this week is business as usual, when I challenged it I was told it was because so many people were off, hmmm, so how come others get time to do their tasks?

Anyway, there is always a reason for things that happen and they do say that every cloud has a silver lining, so things will get better eventually, just probably wontbe with that company :)

Right am off to lie down, I come over all funny like :))

Work ramble

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-13 - 09:11:32

The sun is shining though the clouds are still around, still it is nice to see the sunshine for however long it lasts :)

Half way through the week and I have already locked horns with the 'elite' management team, by simply qouting our own contract and pointing out that the brother of the person that I was dealing with was a solicitor and that he had got himself involved in the procedure I was dealing with, they left me alone to do my work and make a client happy.

Why is it that they cannot see what is obvious to everyone else? The company cannot function without staff, they can recruit yes, but with no staff to train they will not be able to do the work in the correct manner and law suits will follow!!

One of the most important commodities any company has is their staff, and that is more so for companies that deal with the public on a day to day personal basis, they are the one that build the trust in the company and keep the clients happy, so why is it that most of these companies treat their staff like they are worthless?

I truly believe that our company is going down the drain slowly but surely, no matter how many times they try to change procedures they never seem to get it right, of course it helps if you have someone in charge of staff and procedures that actually knows what they are doing, it is simple, it worked the way it was, why mend something that isn't broken? And why not go back to a method that is viable and works and just carry on constantly changing procedures because you cannot stand being wrong?

Every company worth anything has a customer relations department, where complaints etc are dealt with, it is often just a couple of people or more if it is a large company, this is a method that works across the entire country, it works, it is proven, why would you get rid of it? Why would you have only one person trying to deal with complaints and cancellations in amongst their own work when you have over 16000 clients? And more if you include the sister company (that right at this moment after twelve months is still being carried by the original company) The two main men of the company, the guys that own it have gone off, one flits between Ireland and London the other, the 'Man' that was the 'saviour' has sodded off down south to play with a company down there that he has. They have put in a Managing Director who we never see as he still lives down South and the journey is too long for him to come up every day, and various other 'people that do' who we also never see and have no clue what they do? :))

You have to laugh, dont you, when the 'ordinary' staff can see the flaws and where things are wrong and yet those that know just keep on blindly ignoring what is obvious and going round in circles. Never mind lets hope that someone finally sees before it is too late ;)

It is time now to go and prepare myself for the day ahead, and for those things that it may bring whatever they are, have a great day whatever you are doing catch you later

Good morningTuesday

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-12 - 08:11:54

I went back to work ysterday, after nine days off I did not want to return and have to go through the same old rubbish I was going through before my holiday. It would seem however that my threatening to leave before I took my holiday has had a small effect on the distribution of the work loads, at least for this week anyway. Maybe I should flex my muscles more often ;)

Saying that I have applied for a position in a different department, which would mean I do not come under the rule of the 'face fits' squad :)
I have also applied for a couple of other positions with other companies, but we will wait and see which comes first.

It is pouring with rain right now, but somewhere above those steel grey clouds is beautiful sunshine and rainbows and blue skies, thats why there is always sunshine after rain.

Right off to do some stuff like getting ready for work etc, hope you all have a good day, whatever you are doing

How boring

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-05 - 08:51:23

I have had a rough time just lately, I got through it, mostly, and I thought things were getting better, well yes they are, in a manner of speaking.

I was going to burn my blog, this week as it happens, I am tired of the silly emails and private messages with the false names.

I am told that there is no point in my being here any longer, my popularity has waned and my blog is boring to the point of stiffness.

Two points there

1) I started my blog for me, I write it for me ( and occasionally put stuff on to entertain others) I am not here to win a popularity contest, I am here because I have friends that I think a great deal of and because this is my outlet, for all sorts of things.

2)If it is so boring why are you still, after two years, reading it and still trying to get me to leave, do I threaten you in some way? Is your life so empty you need to try to spoil others?

The blog stays. Now go away and get a life!

And on to other things, I have done absolutely nothing for two days and am feeling kinda lazy, I shall have to do something today else I will start to vegitate.

Have a great day all and I will be back later.

What a lovely day!

by lyndlj @ 2008-08-02 - 14:30:13

The sun is shining, I have no work for nine days, and I have had a lovely two hours out watching and listening to a native Indian band (that is American Indian, as in red indian, thuogh of course they are not red) the music was heavenly the dancing was inspired and together they take the breath away, whirling and twirling while at the same time playing, it was brilliant.

Huge congratulations to AJ Spencer who won the summer writing compaetition, and completely deserved too, I shall be having words with him later regards the prize :)

To read the winning entry go here http://writingforfun

Thats about it for now, have a great day :)
