I is ~~knackered~~ tired, I have walked miles today, but, I really enjoyed it.

I miss walking the dog and today was a nice refreshing change, except that was a bloomin big hill! :))

Right away to my bed, wont sleep but at least I will rest.

My Secret Santa times two

This years Secret Santa has been brilliant, there is only one that we are waiting for now and they do have while tomorrow (As I was so sweetly reminded, )

Behind the scenes has been a little more hectic, trying to keep up with you all and making sure that I read them all and so on and so forth. I have however enjoyed every minute as I always do.

I changed it slightly this year, no prizes and just fun, and everyone seemed to like that, it encouraged some that may have otherwise not joined in to atually have a go, methinks this is the way it will stay

In another break with tradition I am going to do A Secret Santa well two actually, you will see why when you read on.

I dont normally participate (Well someone has to keep you lot in line ) however I have good reason to this year as you will see in the two I am about to do.

The First secret santa I am going to do is for one of our best loved and most well known bloggers, she was going to participate but sadly is having a pretty rough time right now and is trying to keep her sanity afloat by concentrating on everyday life and her beloved hubby.

This lady came up with the concept of an international blog meet, and though she tried to escape to Scotland when she was supposed to be meeting me, that first meet was not the last and is now part of the blogging institution.

I have to admit that I have a very special place for her, and I know that no matter what, the bond that we found will always be there.

She has had health problems this year, and this latest one is the scariest, she has had family problems, but come through them with her usual grace.

She is a shining light in the Dark and we all want to let her know that we will be there to help her through this tough time, for she will come through and be just as radiant as ever.

This Second Secret Santa is to someone that I have only just met, I have however spent the past two hours reading his blog, and believe me there is a lot to read!!

I have to tell you straight off that this person had already impressed me, and that is not easy, before I even read his blog. He is a perfect Gentleman, due to unforseen circumstances I was left with a Secret Santa missing, this Gentleman had commented about Secret Santa and the fact that he had missed this years.

I decided to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, I PM'd him and asked if he would do me the favour of filling in for the missing Secret Santa, he did not hesitate, even though he knew that all the others (barring one) had been written and he was just really making sure that someone didnt get left out.

That impressed me, his post for the Secret Santa impressed me (as did all the others no favoritism here ) And then I read his blog.

And I love it! I have learnt things I never knew before, it is a mixture of fun (Loved the Adolescant joke :)) ) serious stuff, which I found myself reading enthralled, which is also historical and Mythical (And we know how much I love Myth and Magic) sayings, in fact it is like opening a box of chocolates (Dark of course ) without looking at the little paper and just choosing.

Quick hi and missing Secret Santas

Monday morning!!

I apologise for having been MIA the past couple of days, been a bad weekend, however it is over and a new week has begun.

There are a few secret santas missing, and I shall be chasing those over the next couple of days, I shall leave the Secret Santa post up so everyone can read after they have all been done for about a week.

And are we all ready for Christmas??

I'm not but then I never am these past few years :))

Right have to go and get some stuff done, I will be back

Is it just me or does everyone think that bosses do things just to annoy us?

My wonderful firm have decided that they are not paying us until Monday the 22nd, there is no reason that they cannot pay us on friday the 19th, but no, they want to make life so much more difficult than it already is, it hasnt helped that they have penalised me by over £50 for my one day off with that flutypebuggy thing I had, which they could also easily have left until next month considering how much time they get out of me for free!!

K rant over.

I have never understood, and seriously think I will go to my grave not understanding, why people have to do two months worth of shopping when the shops are only shut for two days!?

I get that you have to buy extra in as you eat things you would not normally eat, but two whole trolley loads of food for two days?

I say this every year dont I? But it is true, fighting in lumps in the aisles when the shops are only going to be shut for two days, and some shops are only shut one day.

The amount of wastage at this time of year could feed the whole of Africa for a week!!! Unless you are skint like us and plan to live for the next week on left overs :))

And moving on, I have been very unsociable this year, I have not been to one party or even been out for a drink, still there is time yet I think I may be turning into a recluse (It's WOWS fault) or something, or maybe it is just the thought of donning party clothes and then going out in the freezing cold Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

On the home front, nah we wont talk about that.

Think I had better go and get something done, hmmmm, and will catch you later.

December the 16th, only nine days to go and there does not seem to be very much Christmas spirit around, maybe it is the cold weather, maybe it is the economic climate, usually by this time everything is geared towards 'The Big Day' but all people keep saying is 'Dont remind me!'

Come on people, it's the time for being Jolly, the season of goodwill and all that stuff.

OK, so it has been a bad year for many of us, and for some of us it continues, but Christmas is a time to forget the bad for a few days and think of family and other suitably good things, I guess the Christmas message has got lost over the years as it has become more commerciaised.

So lets see if we can find it

Monday morning and all I want to do is go back to bed :no:

I have had a bit of a fall out this weekend, not a proper fall out, but just some people that are quite self centred and was a bit nasty about something that was going on or not, which you will not understand a word of but hey, its my blog and I am venting, the thing is that this person doesnt even realise what she has said or how she has said it and now the other person thinks that I am the one being awkward and the only way to make him realise I am not being awkward is to state what she said, but it isnt just what she said it was how she said it. Ah well never mind, she will just say she didnt mean it that way, even though it is not the first time.

In other news, there are still some people have not picked their secret santa numbers, come on get a move on :))

I will be placing a sticky post up at some ppoint today so that when the secret santa posts have been done you can leave a comment sayng so and I can post a link to your blog so the other santas can read them.

Right have to go get the family out of bed wish me luck. :wave:

OK people, the names are in and have been allocated a number.

All you have to do now is choose a number between 1-27

Leave a comment or PM me with your choice and I will PM you your ~~victim~~ secret santa subject.

Between now and the 21st you have to write a blog about the person you have been allocated, it can be funny or serious or poetic or whatever you choose.

when you have done your blog you must supply a link in comments on my blog and I will post them all so others can read them

OK for those of you that might have missed it first time around here it is again.

SECRET SANTA TIME!!!!

OK, for those of you who have played before you dont need the rules so you can skip this bit, for the rest of you the rules are simple, you leave a comment saying you wish to take part, I take your name and give it a number, in two weeks when everyone has expressed their desire to either join or ~~for me to sod off and never darken their doorsteps again so they can have some peace~~ not. I will ask all those participating to choose a number.

They will then be given the name of the person who is that number, they then have to write a blog about said person.

Over the past couple of years this has led to people meeting new people, finding new blogs and striking up freindships, so come on join in, you never know what is round the corner!

I have been so busy saying Happy Birthday to all those that have had birthdays these past couple of weeks and so busy with work and stuff that I totally forgot my Blog birthday :roll:

As it happens, I have now been on blog three years, I joined on the 4th December 2005 (so it is actually 3 yrs and 5 days) though it doesn't seem that long!

I have seen people come and go and come back again, there have been times when I have considered going myself and I have taken a couple of 'breaks' but have never taken the final step and deleted or 'burned' my blog.

We have had two blog babies, that is babies born of couples that have met and fallen in love on blog, we may have actually had more but I am talking amongst those that I know and who are/were on my friends list. One couple no longer blog, and they are sadly missed

I have met, both in real life and virtually some lovely people through blog, it has been a strange three years, a lot has happened and yet I seem no further forwardm ah well such is life.

Claim to Fame

It is sheet ice outside my door, and somehow I have to get to work! 88|

Hopefully by the time I set off it will have begun to clear, but the looks of that weather out there it is not looking likely.

We were on GM TV yesterday morning, our claim to fame being the worst hit town in West Yorkshire, no buses and the roads were unusable, erm not really, didnt seem to stop everyone using them! It was take your life in your hands if you went out before 9am, cars were sliding all over and it was much safer to walk.

How soft have we got!? This used to be the norm for November and December, the snow we had yesterday would have been laughed at, classed as nothing, just a little shower, now it brings us to a standstill, people not turning in to work, people going home early because it started snowing again, while those that could walk, no matter how far, were left to keep the place running! Snow in England in the winter is normal, why on earth are the councils not prepared for it? Just because we have had several winters where the snow has passed us by does not mean we are never going to get it again.

It is apparently not cost efficient to grit the roads before it snows or before they freeze :roll: Despite being told it was coming, so the whole town came to a standstill for a couple of hours, it may be the same again today as we still have no gritters out and the place is frozen over, we could become known as Ice town, that would make a change :))

Mind you the people are just as bad, watching two little old ladies trying to get down the road in shoes with heels on that were obviously made for better weather, its a wonder they didnt break something!!

Wellies out ladies, oh sorry, it doesn't go with the outfit!

Ah well, the promise of more snow to come will keep the children happy at least, thats if it actually gets here you know what happens when they predict we are going to get it

Right off to get some Breccy and a nice warm drink, before having to go and find some way of making that path passable, catch you later :wave:

I was sat for over an hour watching the snow fall at 6am, I love to watch it fall but dislike going out in it. How many people will not be in work today I wonder as the roads have not been cleared or gritted?

A beautiful winter scene with the snow on the trees and paths, sadly has not lasted long as the cars begin their morning journeys and it has all been churned up, so dont look at the floor just at the trees where it is still fresh and clean.

The sky is still full of it though it has stopped falling for the moment, and I have yet to walk to work in this so not really looking forward to that brrrrrrrrrr.

And how is everyone else this fine morning?
